 Mission 30

Flash traffic! Intel reports an enemy plan to use blimps to bomb a

critical radio installation on the coast 20 miles east north-east of

your present position. The transmitter is being used to co-ordinate

the ongoing offensive and it is absolutely vital it continue to

operate without interruption. An island in the middle of the channel

is apparently to be used by enemy forces for re-fueling and staging

prior to the attack. Your orders are to stop any of the Zeppelins from

crossing into the unprotected airspace around the transmitter and to

take out the enemy installations on the island.

Intel has also indicated that the enemy possesses naval assets in

the vicinity of the island. Unfortunately, the bulk of our fleet is

already engaged, so you are on your own. Good luck.

Mission 31

TOP SECRET

NAVY HQ DISPATCH

Attention Commander Stubbles

As you know, last week we lost a battleship during an engagement with two enemy aircraft carriers. We also lost Commander Wicker, his submarine, and all his crew, in his valiant effort to assist the sinking battleship during the heavy air attack. We are reasonably sure that both aircraft carriers received severe damage during the battle. The carriers are being repaired in one or more of the island ports in your currently assigned patrol area. Bad weather has prevented the pinpointing of their location, nor can we determine how well they are being protected.

Your mission: find and destroy both aircraft carriers. You must avenge our comrades.

God speed, and good luck.

Signed,

Admiral Hall

Mission 32

The enemy has taken over the Isle of Trust. An agent is to be landed on the island to organise resistance. From your starting point in our naval harbour of Homeport, You are to take him to a rendezvous with the steamer Lady Anne, anchored just southeast of the Isle of Trust, and then return to your moorings in the harbour. You will know when the rendezvous has occurred, because the Lady Anne will move off to take the agent ashore. The agent is a diver, so you need not approach the Lady Anne on the surface. He is on board now, so you can put to sea. If you need supplies, find the Bountiful. The harbour of Homeport is a funnel shaped lake with a river leading to the sea at its southern end. When the mission opens, your moorings are astern of you, but access to them is blocked by a boom running across the harbour. This will have moved by the time you return, so long as the rendezvous with the Lady Anne is made. Some of our ships are moored in the harbour.

Mission 33

Two troop carriers and a number of warships have been spotted in the very south-east of E1. We think that this convoy will soon head for the enemy's island off our south-western coast, the Isle of Fear. The enemy has also constructed pontoons off this island, and has deployed forces to protect the pontoons. it is clear that these activities are the prelude to an attack on our coastline. This must be stopped. You are accordingly ordered to sink the troop carriers before they reach the Isle of Fear, and to destroy the pontoons. The troop carriers and pontoons are large, so will be hard to destroy. Once you have done this, return to your moorings in Homeport Harbour. If you succeed, the harbour boom will be moved to allow you to moor up. Intelligence thinks that, if you put to sea quickly, you should be able to intercept the convoy as it steams across the southernmost sectors of D1. Find the Bountiful for fresh supplies.

Mission 34

Intelligence has learned that the enemy has sent a submarine tender to rendezvous with four of its submarines in order to refuel them. The exact location of the rendezvous is not known, but it is somewhere in area C 3.

The tender is supposed to go into a search pattern when it arrives on-station, and await contact by each of the submerged submarines. It's important that you sink the tender, but vital that you sink all four submarines.

Intelligence feels that if you sink the tender first, the submarines may scatter. If they do, a second tender is believed being sent to an alternate rendezvous location.

Mission 35.

There's an island in the vicinity of E5.

We must make sure the intercepting ships are gone before the island is ours.

It is thought an aircraft is already in the area, so be quick and quiet. If it is there, get rid of it, and be stealthy in case there are agents on land.

A destroyer is wondering around near the island, so if necessary, you must search for it and destroy it. It is thought a fighter is also on the look-out, so act with care.
